“What’s at Stake is the Fabric of Civilization”

Congressman-Elect Denny Heck speaks to his campaign supporters.

With these words Congressman-Elect Denny Heck urged his supporters in Thurston County on Tuesday night to educate and activate everyone on the need to address climate change.  He emphasized that whether you believe that humans are responsible for global warming or not, climate change is real and requires action.

Although generally pessimistic that the climate issue will be addressed in the new 113th Congress, he was optimistic that the “fiscal cliff” budget standoff will be resolved in a reasonable manner. By that he means a “Middle-Out Economics” solution that helps the middle class, as opposed to the “Trickle Down” strategies of the past.

Just back from his orientation program in Washington D.C., Denny was at Ramblin Jacks in Olympia to thank his campaign supporters for helping him win decisively in the new 10th Congressional District.
