State Health Exchange Moves Ahead

Molly Voris, State Health Benefit Exchange Program Director

On Friday, Washington State Health Benefit Exchange Program Director Molly Voris submitted the Health Exchange Level Two Establishment Grant Application to the federal government. Once approved the funding will be used to develop the State Health Exchange, the key state level component of federal health care reform, where individuals and small businesses will be able to purchase health insurance and determine eligibility for subsidies or credits.

Meanwhile, the State Exchange Board will meet next Monday, April 9, its second meeting since taking over responsibility for the exchange. Among other agenda items the Board will finalize the role of a new Technical Advisory Committee and Board members will be tasked with identifying nominations for the Committee.
