YELM, Sept. 7.–A fund-raiser at the farm of state Rep. J.T. Wilcox, R-Yelm, is showing all the signs of becoming one of the more important events on the Republican circuit. Wilcox has been holding them since he won his race for state House in the 2nd District in 2010, but they just keep getting bigger. This Saturday the event drew about 300. And when you consider how hard the Wilcox Farms are to find, even with a GPS system, that tells you something either about the event or about Wilcox himself.
Here Wilcox stands with his wife Kathie and his son James, who enrolled in the military seven months ago and is due shortly to be shipped out to Korea.
“We had 300 people drive out into the middle of nowhere because they believe in a functioning two-party system and are willing to support Republicans who prove they respect it,” he said.
