Washington State Wire Is Growing — Accepting Applications For A Second Reporter

Washington State Wire, Washington State’s premier political e-newspaper, seeks applications for a second reporter. This person will work with Wire staff to advance its goals; pure journalistic reporting on state-level politics and all that is “Olympia.” A successful applicant will have a bachelor degree in journalism or a related discipline, and have experience writing for a newspaper or established e-newspaper. This is not a blog posting job.

We’re looking for someone who has the background and skills developed in a newsroom, someone who understands the unwritten code of conduct of a reporter. We’re looking for someone who loves the Legislature and the political fray, and we’re looking for someone who can report intelligently and in-depth on issues that ordinarily are ignored by others in the press – the often-complicated issues of concern to the business community. Compensation will be market-based and commensurate with experience and quality of prior work.

Please submit a resume and any notable published writing examples to Jim Boldt, Senior Editor, Washington State Wire at Duckabushcommunciations@gmail.com no later than the 28th of March, 2014. References will be needed on request.
