Walker Orenstein is leaving the Tacoma News Tribune. He covered the legislature as one of the few remaining members of the print industry’s capital press corps. He made the announcement via Twitter on Friday.
Dearest internet pals, today is my last day at @thenewstribune & @theolympian. #waleg
I’m moving to Minneapolis (job TBA) and I’ll keep the goodbye thread short:

Also notable is the departure of Stephen Hsieh, the News Editor at The Stranger. He departs Seattle for the Phoenix New Times, an independent outlet in Arizona.
I’m leaving Seattle this weekend to write for @phoenixnewtimes. I will miss this city dearly, but I’m thrilled to get back to work on Monday. Goodbye sound, hello desert.
