Friday News? Really?
Reichert won’t challenge Cantwell! Duh!
Congressman Reichert has announced he will not run against US Senator Cantwell this fall. As in nine months from now? Really? Someone, anywhere in the country actually thought he might run against her?
People who challenge a seated US Senator, with a fairly liberal voting record, with an electorate base like the Seattle Metro area in a state usually start…oh, two years prior. If you haven’t made up your mind by February of the election year it never was a serious consideration.
Has anyone looked at the new 8th district? Could it be anymore Republican?
This ain’t news!
State DOE won’t fine Seattle fisherman for a 2-oucne oil spill?
We at WSW were so relieved that the State Department of Ecology has decided not to fine Seattle fisherman Pete Knutson for his 2-ounce oil spill.
First, this is just one more example of why we need a governor who actually administers, as in being an executive who oversees the executive branch. You probably did not follow this week long struggle and news event. Folks probably thought it was a joke. It wasn’t.
DOE had at least two people on scene parts of two days that we are aware of. Who knows how many hard working ecodites were “monitoring developing events” back at Olympia headquarters.
Second, Knutson still faces a fine from the US Coast Guard.
This is news, and sad news at that.
