Gone Like A Freight Train, Gone Like Yesterday
Montgomery/Gentry’s country music hit, Gone describes today. Everyone’s off for Memorial Day, and the end of the session, again. Hat’s off to the centrists for pulling this end of session move in time, thanks.
We’ll be back next week to watch what the guv does with the bills.
In the meantime, let’s all try to remember there is a reason we have a Memorial Day. Begun as a “decoration day” for civil war dead, it has evolved to the event we know today; the remembrance of all deceased American service members…and three and four day weekends, shopping and picnics. So, as you pay nearly four dollars a gallon for mid-eastern oil/gas, and bask in our climate-changed world of 55 degrees and rain, let’s keep the main thing the main thing and not forget those who have given their lives so we can have the freedom to spend 135 days redistributing the state’s citizen’s very precious wealth.
Gone.
