Inslee In, Manning Out, Reed Not Running, Kastama Is…How To Compete With This For a Post? State Employees Turn Down Brownie-Point Cash? My Oh My!
It was in there between the Me, Me, Me of all the campaign stuff today. There they were. Six of them. Probably hard working state employees, not just state employees, they were WSDOT employees. They worked at the place where the engineers can’t line up the two ends of an on-ramp. The same place that can’t get the agreement correct with a toll collector. You know the place.
So when six of them changed the contracting rules so they could barge in the deicer for the roads instead of truck it in from Utah the Productivity Board offered them up to $10K each for “job well done”. Well, rightly these six announced it was just part o the job. No need to shower them with money. Do you think???
We hope so. A hat’s off to them for not just going down the path of bad management.
But here’s the topper. Komo-TV tells that the reason it is cheaper to get the salt (tough on cars) is because it now comes by barge from Mexico instead of good old Utah, USA. More of our tax dollars heading out of the country?
Is the governor back from Europe yet?
