On Tuesday the Washington State Employment Security Department released the employment numbers for January 2013. Nonfarm employment rose by 24,100 from December 2012 to January 2013 as the private sector added 18,600 jobs over the month and the public sector gained 5,500.
“Washington’s preliminary seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for January 2013 is unchanged at 7.5 %. The estimated December 2012 unemployment rate was revised down to 7.5%. The January 2012 unemployment rate was 8.5%.”
