OLYMPIA, April 3.—On the 80th day of this year’s legislative session, lawmakers finally lurch into budget mode as the Senate releases its proposals for transportation and operating budgets.
The Majority Coalition Caucus will reveal all at a pair of press conferences today. The Senate makes the first official move this year; the House Democrats come next. And if all goes according to schedule – which it seldom does – all negotiations will come to an end and the Legislature will adopt final budgets for 2013-15 by April 28.
The operating budget will be announced at a news conference at noon at the state reception room in the Capitol Building.
The transportation budget will be announced at a news conference at 9 a.m. in conference room ABC in the John Cherberg Building.
