After 100 years of futility, Democrats in Congress tonight passed a National Health Care Policy for all Americans. The health care reform bill passed tonight symbolizes a transition — from a health care policy dominated by an irrational and sometimes corrupt market to a publicly defined health care system.
The focus now moves to the Senate, which will consider, through reconciliation, the FIRST amendments to our newly adopted National Health Care Policy. In the years ahead Congress will consider many additional amendments as we build an American health care system. I believe that we will march steadily towards the single payer system that most Democrats support, because that is fairest and most cost-effective way to deliver health care.
THIS IS YOUR VICTORY
Defeat is an orphan, and Victory has a thousand parents. I want to thank and congratulate you for giving hope to millions of Americans who cannot afford to see a doctor. A National Health Care Policy has been your dream for so many years. It is why you supported Barack Obama to be our President and why you worked so hard to elect Democrats to Congress.
This is truly CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN!
All the best,
Dwight Pelz
