Mike Vaska, Chair of Mainstream Republicans of Washington (MRW), has announced Lila Mowatt as the new Executive Director of MRW. Vaska sent out the following email announcing the new Executive Director.
Hello Friends of Mainstream,
I’m very pleased to announce that Lila Mowatt, a highly experienced not-for profit professional, is the new Executive Director for Mainstream Republicans of Washington (MRW). She joins the organization as we prepare for important mid-term elections this year and plan for next year’s celebration of the 50th anniversary of the first Cascade Conference.
Lila rose to the top of a very competitive group of finalists for this position. Prior to MRW, Lila was the American Jewish Committee (AJC) Seattle Regional Director and American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) in both Seattle and Houston. With AIPAC she facilitated fundraising, grassroots lobbying and large-scale events.
Lila earned her M.A in History from the University of Haifa and her B.A. from New York University in Political Science and Middle Eastern studies. She lives with her husband and two children in Auburn.
MRW is already one of the leading political organizations in the Northwest, with a mission to recruit, educate and support candidates with a pragmatic approach to governing. The Cascade Conference this year had record attendance, and we’ve raised and spent more than half a million dollars in the last year to support candidates.
