Meet Washington’s New Legislators: Panel 1

Five soon-to-be legislators convened at the 2020 Re-Wire Virtual Policy Conference for a panel conversation on their respective backgrounds, reflections from the campaign trail, and plans for the upcoming legislative session.

This conversation was one of two panels that introduced a few members of the Legislature’s incoming freshman class.

In the first panel, the Wire was pleased to welcome:

David Hackney: Member-Elect, 11th LD, House of Representatives

Peter Abbarno: Member-Elect, 20th LD, House of Representatives

April Berg: Member-Elect, 44th LD, House of Representatives

Greg Gilday: Member-Elect, 10th LD, House of Representatives

Mark Klicker: Member-Elect, 16th LD, House of Representatives

Topics of discussion ranged from the policy issues each new member would like to focus on during their first session; issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic that they think need more attention; and their views on consensus building.
