The start of the 2013 Legislative Session also signals the beginning of protests.  On Thursday it was the Washington Coalition to Amend the Constitution.  They are asking the Washington Legislature to pass a memorial resolution calling on Congress to overturn the Citizens United U.S. Supreme Court decision by returning to Congress and the states, the authority to regulate campaign contributions.

The 2012 decision held that the U.S. Constitution prohibits the government from restricting independent political expenditures by corporations and unions.
