Preliminary results are in for the Aug. 3 primary, which will decide which candidates make it on to the the Nov. 3 general election.

In the Whatcom County Port of Bellingham Commissioner Dist. 2 race, Ken Bell is ahead with 47.05% of the vote, followed by Kelly Krieger with 35.17%.
To the south in the Port of Tacoma races, Dick Marzano has 63.82% of the vote, while none of his challengers have garnered more than 20% in the Pos. 2 commissioner race. In Pos. 4, Don Meyer is well ahead as well, with 38.93% of the vote. Mary Bacon is in second with 23.99%, closely followed by Brian Duthie with 22.56%.
