Early Results from Washington Legislative Races

As election officials continue to count votes, here’s where the polls currently stand. These results represent only the earliest vote counts, and they will continue to adjust and shift over the coming days. Election results are officially certified by each county on November 28, and the Secretary of State will certify the final results on December 1.

As we noted in our coverage of the legislative race primary results, of these eight races, Republicans and Democrats each lead in four. However, in the races where Republicans are leading, they are all against Democrat opponents, and they lead by an average of 24.99 percentage points. By comparison, only one of the Democrat leads is over a Republican candidate, with a 10.84 percentage point spread (45th District Senator race). One of the races where a Democrat leads is unopposed, and the other two are against libertarian candidates.
