COVID’s curveball: A Seattle sports team’s unique opportunity emerging from COVID

Justin Moser is the owner of Doubles and Bombs Baseball Group, which runs a summer collegiate ball club out of White Center, Washington, named the Highline Bears.

As the state begins to reopen this week, many major sporting venues in the state and across the country have opened to full capacity. Moser and the Bears have kept their gates closed amidst COVID regulations and the economic impacts of the pandemic, even as Washington state now allows large events.

“We had tripled our sponsorship sales, we had tripled our season ticket sales, everything was looking like 2020 was going to be the best season we had”, said Moser.

In this interview with the Washington State Wire, learn about Moser’s fight to keep baseball alive in West Seattle and what drastic changes the team is making to come back stronger in years to come.
