Association of Washington Business to host annual Spring Meeting May 8-9

Washington State University and the University of Washington medical school leaders will share the stage next week at the annual Spring Meeting of the Association of Washington Business.

Dr. Christine Johnson, chancellor of the Community Colleges of Spokane, will moderate a discussion about the expansion of medical education in Washington with Dr. Suzanne Allen, vice dean for academic, rural and regional affairs at the University of Washington School of Medicine, and Dr. John Tomkowiak, founding dean of the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine.

The event begins with a luncheon keynote address from Joe Sprague, senior vice president, external relations, for Alaska Airlines.

Other panels include a discussion of climate policy with Heather Rosentrater, vice president, energy delivery for Avista Corporation, and a report on federal health care from Grace-Marie Turner, president of the Galen Institute.
