Amazon adds Senate aide to public-policy team

Amazon is continuing its hiring sweep of Congress, adding its third Democratic aide in a month.

Tina Tower joins the tech giant as a program manager for U.S. public policy. She was most recently Sen. Ed Markey’s (D-Mass.) deputy scheduler and assistant to the chief of staff.

Last month, Politico reported that Amazon had hired House chiefs of staff LaDavia Drane and Tony Clair “to work on diversity issues, including Amazon’s relationship with the Congressional Black Caucus, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus.” Drane and Clair were chiefs to Democratic Reps. Yvette Clarke (N.Y.) and G.K. Butterfield (N.C.), respectively.
