Washingtonians were not quiet amid the inauguration of President Donald Trump in the other Washington.
Women’s Marches
Seattle and Olympia both saw massive turnouts for their respective Women’s Marches Saturday. Seattle Police Department estimates more than 120,000 people packed the nearly 4-mile-long route, according to KOMO Channel 4 News, and other outlets.

Olympia Police Department estimated about 10,000 turned out in the state Capitol.

Inauguration Day protests
Inauguration Day protests, though not as large, drew crowds to Olympia and Seattle as well.
About 500 people stood on the Statehouse steps Friday decrying xenophobia, racism and discriminatory policies promised by the Trump administration.

Seattle protesters marched to the University of Washington Friday evening where Milo Yiannopoulos, Breitbart editor who refers to himself as the “supervillain of the internet,” was speaking. One person suffered life-threatening injuries in a shooting at the protest, according to ABC Channel 13 News.

On Monday, about 5,000 people are expected to march in Olympia for anti-abortion policies, according to a report from The Olympian.
