Governor Announces Health Care Policy Team

The Governor’s Office made it official on Tuesday, Bob Crittenden, M.D., and Jason McGill, J.D., were named as Governor Inslee’s policy team on health care. Senior Policy Advisor Crittenden will oversee health care reform, while Policy Advisor McGill will focus on all other health care and long term care issues.

The appointments follow recent media comments that Inslee has been “slow out of the gate” with key appointments. But with Bob and Jason he brings both continuity and experience to health care. Jason is a proven carry-over from the Gregoire administration. Bob is a veteran of the Booth Gardner administration who returns to state government after eight years as Executive Director of the Herndon Alliance, a nationwide non-partisan coalition of more than 200 organizations supporting affordable healthcare for all. Bob is also a faculty member at the University of Washington.

In a letter to stakeholders Jason wrote, “With you and many others across the state, Bob and I are excited to help implement health care reform and drive innovative changes in health care to improve quality and lower costs.” The right goal to measure them by.
