Former U.S. Attorney Jenny Durkan raises $163,000 in first three weeks

Jenny Durkan, first-time candidate and former U.S. Attorney appointed by President Obama, announced that her campaign has raised more than $163,000. Jenny received donations from 650 individuals in less than three weeks as a candidate for Seattle mayor.

I’m grateful for the grassroots support from my friends and neighbors who believe in our progressive agenda for Seattle. Our city faces a lot of tough challenges from the skyrocketing cost of living to the growing homeless crisis to police reform, and these challenges demand a leader who will listen and work together to get results. I also believe that Seattle needs someone ready and able to stand up to this president and his administration on issues like the travel ban, unjust sentencing, climate change, and immigration, and there’s no one more prepared and willing to take on Trump and Attorney General Sessions. I look forward to continue meeting voters across the city to discuss my plans for our great city.

Since announcing, Jenny has joined dozens of meetings and forums to discuss her ideas with Seattleites across the city.
